Offshore Containers are designed to be used in maritime environments which means, they are dedicated for use on deck of ships, on artificial islands or offshore platforms.
In all cases the guidelines of work safety are mandatory.
For dimensions, construction, and approval as well as for inspection and identification, the guidelines of DIN EN 12079 (06/1999) and certification notes No. 2.7-1 and 2.7-2 of the Norke Veritas Classification AS (DNV) are applicable for our containers.
For certification of Offshore Containers, ECCT works with Germanischer Lloyd and Bureau Norske Veritas.
In addition to the requirements to certify any sea-container with CSC standards there are more specific requirements, concerning:
- Wall stability
- Outside surface protection
- Fire protection (AO 060) with adequate fire covers
- Corner fittings and lifting gear
The norms and specifications for each type of container depend on terms of use and location for its dedication.
